CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

|
To lecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct and publish research within the disciplines of Industrial and Organisational Psychology (IOP), Employment Relations and Human Resource Management. To supervise postgraduate students, and deal with administrative work. To co-ordinate the Master of Commerce Industrial Psychology programme.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
|
- Facilitate learning and teaching of Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Employment Relations and Human Resources at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Conduct and publish research in accredited journals and present research papers at conferences.
- Supervise postgraduate students (Honours and Master’s)
- Co-ordinate postgraduate programmes
- Provide academic administration and academic leadership
- Work closely with the other members of the Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychology as well as those from the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for appointment to the Associate Professor post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
- Be professionally registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist.
- Have three to seven years relevant experience in lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Have relevant leadership experience.
- Have published journal articles in accredited journals.
- Have presented research findings at conferences.
- Have a track record of successful research supervision of postgraduate students.
To be considered for appointment to the Senior Lecturer post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
- Be professionally registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist.
- Have experience or demonstrate competency to co-ordinate Masters programmes.
- Have one to five years relevant experience in facilitating training within industry or lecturing at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Have published research articles in accredited journals and research findings at conferences.
- Have a track record of successful research supervision and examination of postgraduate students.
To be considered for appointment to the Lecturer post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
- Be professionally registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist
- Have two years relevant lecturing experience of IOP modules or equivalent experience in facilitation of training in an industry/corporate context.
Kindly note: Preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate, research supervision experience and experience in the coordination of postgraduate programmes.
